I am trying to locate the Dirdal farm. According to Ole Rygh the farm is located in Fossan but I have not been able to find it in the Fossan bygdebøker. Not in Strand and not in Gjesdal bygebøker. Any idea where I could find information about it?

Dirdal has a postnumber in Norway. It is 4335 Dirdal, in Gjesda kommunel in Rogaland. Seek for it in Google. You can asked for some help in Gjestal kommune. They have old maps and perhaps the can find the Dirdal fam. Witch year?

You can read about the Dirdal farm in "Gjesdal Indre del" vol. 5. This part of Gjesdal belonged to Forsand until 1965. I am one of the authors of the bokk and I'll be happy to help with some information.

I work at the Norwegian American Genealogical Center & Naeseth Library in Madison, Wisconsin, we are a nonprofit organization. We only have volumes I, II or Gjesdal Indre Del. Is it possible to purchase the other volumes and if so what is the cost and where may we be able to purchase it. I have relatives in Stavanger and travel there periodically (last trip was in August 2015). Could get them on my next trip. We have the Time bygdebøker that you also authored. Great job!

Rasmus Aadnesen's son Aadne Rasmussen is one of my direct ancestors. Any information you may have on the family is greatly appreciated. One of my ancestoral grandfathers is Ole Schavland the parish priest in Strand during the early 1800s.
