That's one reason CP is so useful and well-designed.

It DOES have BOTH systems, so the reader can quickly see, count and
compare.

Yes, I totally agree, Spencer. Compete Peerage is VERY thorough that
way. It allows people the freedom to follow which of the two systems
they prefer.

Wow, Dougie has found a new peerage book, does it differ from the Complete

Peerage?
The Complete Peerage explains their one system
The Roman Numerals indicate the number of persons who have borne a dignity,
while the Arabic ones show how many of the same family have inherited it.

You will find that xyz succeeded his father as the 13th Earl (of Pembroke on
25 April 1862) the complete Peerage tells he was the 32nd person to hold
that digmity, but he is called the 13th Earl, not the 32nd.

Dougie is showing how stubborn little twit he is, just because others show
him the pitfalls of simultaneous posting, he has to stamp his little feet
crying out "I know better", I think you know very little.
With best wishes
Leo van de Pas

Simultaneous posting gives newsgroup posters the same kind of freedom.

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah
