Cecilie Sørenson Tønnesen was born Sept. 19, 1868 (Vanse 1861-1878, nr121). She married Helmik Olai Tønnesen March 24, 1886 (Arkivverket: Farsund 1863-1886 nr 1). She had 7 children between 1886 and 1905. Family tale says that Germans occupied their home during the war and that Cecilie was a prisoner of war and that she died in captivity. I haven't been able to deny or verify that. She died in 1942 (Grav, ommer I Norge ID no. 1709504 in Farsund). Can you help me find how and where she died ?

Sorry that I cannot help you with how and where she died. The scanned Church register? for deaths is only until 1938 for Farsund.
But I’m sure that Farsund Menighetskontor can help you.

But it’s quiet possible that Germans occupied their house during WW2. They usually did that to punish them, because family members had been members in the resistance movement.
The same thing happened to my grandparents. They arrested 3 sons and sent them to death camps in Germany and my grandparents had to give some soldiers housing and food.

She probably wasn't imprisoned by the Germans anyway, as I can't find her in this archive
http://www.stiftelsen-arkivet.no/fangeregister
It's a list of all people emprisoned by the Germans from the Vest and Aust-Agder fylker in 1940-45. It includes both those who stayed imprisoned in the nearby area, and those who were sent away to Oslo or Germany.

Anne: I'm sorry that happened to your family members. My greatgrandparents lived at 84 Nygaden and I can't find anything referencing that address, but from what I've learned, it may have been where the Germans would have liked to have used it. For my greatgrandmother's death, I will check with the people at the address you gave me. Thank you very much for your information.

Bjørn: Thank you for checking the prison records. Although it would not have been good for her to be on that list, I'm almost disappointed because I've had such a hard time finding out about how and where she died. Mange takk!
